WEAPON DPS
There are two charts below, one for level 11 maxed ships and one for level 7 ships. The most important column is DPS/power, which tells you what guns are most efficient in terms of DPS. Be aware that some guns with EMP effects or AP damage should not be compared just for their DPS, but instead for the utility they bring to your ship.
Note – this page does not include the level 12 rooms yet. I’ll add them once they’re fully balanced and settled in the meta.
The DPS column is calculated by taking the max of Shield Damage or (System+AP+Hull) Damage, since only one can be applied. If the shield is hit, the shield damage will be done to the shield, and if the shield is down, the weapon will apply the other three types of damage. Note that crew damage is not included – if you’re interested in doing crew damage, currently PLA and ION do more crew damage than system damage, and most other weapons it is the same. Finally, the damage is divided by the reload speed, plus the time it takes to fire the weapon if the weapon has a volley (e.g. Ion, EMP). The complete formula is:
DPS = (MAX(Shield Dmg, System Dmg+AP Dmg+Hull Dmg)*Volley)/(Reload Time+(Volley-1)*Shot Delay)
Percentage time EMP’d is the percentage of time that an EMP weapon will keep the reload of a room stalled if every shot lands on that room. Some shots will inevitably hit the shield, so your actual percentage will be a bit less than this in practice.
