ADVANCED CREW TRAINING
Editor’s Note: This is a guest guide by steve.nonego that explains how to use fatigue to reduce unwanted stats while training. It is highly effective and used by top clans. Thanks for documenting it steve.nonego! If you haven’t read the beginner training guide, start there.
Crew Training 1.0
Before we talk about crew training 2.0, let’s review 1.0, the traditional way to train crews. The procedure of Crew Training 1.0 is like this:
1) Put the crew into gym
2) Pick the 12 hour session
3) Wait for 12 hours, then collect the results
4) Let the crew rest 24 hours
5) Repeat 1-4 until the crew hits the softcap
Roughly speaking, the result will always work like this: for every 5 training points gained in the main stat, there will be 1 training point that goes into some side stats. Hence, the good vs. bad training points ratio is roughly 5:1.
What can Crew Training 2.0 achieve
No Comparison, No Measurement
We can’t tell the difference unless we can measure it. We know 1.0’s good vs. bad ratio is 5:1. Here is an example from 2.0:

With the use of 2.0, it improves the gym/academy efficiency as high as 10:1 or even more. And I assure you, you can replicate it.

Crew Training 2.0
Without further ado, here is the how-to. First, understand the terms:
Fatigue points
F0: 0 fatigue point
F1: 1 fatigue point
...
F11: 11 fatigue points
Training session
S1: 45 min, gain 1 fatigue
S2: 3 hrs, gain 6 fatigue
S3: 12 hrs, gain 24 fatigue
TP: Training points (bar on the bottom of the character stats screen)
And here is the corresponding facial expressions for fatigue points range.

Second, the training procedure of Crew Training 2.0:
1) Train S1 with F0, wait 40 minutes, collect result
2) Continue doing S1 while face is F1-10
3) Repeat step 2 until crew looks like F11-20
4) Train S3 while crew has face F11-20, wait 12 hours, collect result
5) Continue doing S3 until crew looks like face F91-100
6) Rest crew until they look like face F21-30, then train S3
7) Repeat step 5-6 until 45% total TP used
8) S3 with face F11-20 until 55% total tp used
9) S3 with face F1-10 until 65% total tp used
10) Above 65% total TP used, you can do S3 with face F0
Yes. You read this correctly. Crew Training 2.0 trains your crews with fatigue; this is the trick to reduce side stats.
Important Notes
Note 1: The cutoff for the fatigue points and training points are not a golden standard. Consider them as a reference. Test it yourself and adjust accordingly. If you are getting side stats, increase the fatigue at which you train.
Note 2: This training method will take much more time to train and you’ll have to log on more consistently. Yet it also significantly reduce side stats.
Note 3: As you use more training points, training will have diminishing returns. It is common to have multiple consecutive training sessions gain 0 points.
Lastly, training with fatigue is not an entirely new idea, many captains come across that in their mind. I simply walked the extra mile and systematized it. I strongly believe this is part of the game design and not a bug. Simply because 1) the fatigue tiers exist for a reason, and 2) it is increasingly difficult to let crews accumulate fatigue points. Yet, feel free to think otherwise. Crew training 2.0 still has room for improvement. Feel free to share your ideas and work them out together. Remember: If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

A table to recap Crew Training 2.0 How to read:
1) While TP% used is (value in first column)
2) Make sure fatigue points is at least (value in second column)
3) Train the crew with (session in third column)
4) Read the special notes if there are any
| TP % Used | Fatigue | Training | Notes |
| 0 | 0 | S1 | You should only be at F0 once, since it’s the most likely training to give side stats |
| 1-44 | 1-10 | S1 | |
| 1-44 | 11+ | S3 | Train until F91-100, rest until F21-30, and then train S3 again until F91-100 |
| 45-64 | 11+ | S3 | |
| 55-64 | 1+ | S3 | |
| 65+ | 0 | S3 |
